A client retention birthday mailer for the Northwestern Mutual Honolulu office. The birthday greeting is presented in the Hawaiian language, over a backdrop of the iconic landmark Diamond Head. The crater’s edge is echoed in a pattern above, which creates a design reminiscent of a financial line graph, to imply the prospect of financial growth. On the reverse side the pattern repeats with additional distinct elements—a subtext on translation, as well as a link between the visual metaphor and ad copy.
