A client retention birthday mailer for the Northwestern Mutual Honolulu office. The birthday greeting is presented in the Hawaiian language, over a backdrop of the iconic landmark Diamond Head. The crater’s edge is echoed in a pattern above, which creates a design reminiscent of a financial line graph, to imply the prospect of financial growth. On the reverse side the pattern repeats with additional distinct elements—a subtext on translation, as well as link between the visual metaphor and ad copy.
