This campaign for the Whidbey Island Roller Girls creates an updated logo, develops a consistent visual language, and invokes the team’s core principals—acceptance, athleticism, and good sportsmanship—while also accommodating the practical needs of their fluctuating recruitment initiative.
Visually the system is comprised of dense layouts, textured elements, and flamboyant typography to reflect the playful, showmanship oriented nature of the sport. The poster designs integrate inclusive messaging and rule-specific roller derby terminology, reinforcing the team’s values. The bootcamp poster is free of date specific information and can be used in perpetuity, while the recruiting and business cards allocate dedicated a space for additional handwritten information.
